Who are you serving?

" For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister." Hebrews 6:10

It seems, in these days, that time is moving faster and faster. We have more " time saving devices" than ever before, yet we seem to be so unproductive. We make a list of things to do and more often than not run out of daylight prior to reaching the bottom of the list. To top it all off, we are also living in one of the most unthankful generations ever. Often, the work and preparation that goes into any given day is overshadowed by complaints and selfishness. Why would anyone give themselves to be a servant in times like these? Where is the reward?

Depending on who, or what, you are serving is where you find your motivation. If a person chooses to serve the flesh, whether it is theirs or someone else's, they will find themselves exhausted and frustrated. We simply get burnt out with the lack of commitment and temporary praises that follow. On the other hand, if we give ourselves to serving the Lord and going about His work, we find strength and encouragement.

In the above verse, we see that no work for the Lord goes unnoticed. No matter how small or insignificant it may seem, if done with love and for the glory of God, it is laid to your account.

We are told in Hebrews 11:6, " But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

There is only one Heavenly Father and there is only one way to please Him, and that is by faith.

In Joshua 24:15, the man of God makes this statement: " ...choose you this day whom ye will serve... But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."

Who are you serving today?
