When It Comes to Living

Posted by  Secretary  Oct 9, 2016

When it comes to living, there are several key factors that are needed to survive. First we must have an environment that will sustain us. This is why the astronauts in space can't just do as they please upon arrival. They have a man made environment in the form of a capsule or a suit which provides the correct temperature and type of air to keep them alive. The same applies to deep sea divers. They need to be protected from elements that would harm them and supplied with air to breathe.

Basically, our outside environment is important for survival. But there are a number of places we can go to have our environmental needs met. The air, the warmth, and even the food we eat all come to us from the outside, but what about our blood? How important is blood to survival?

Blood is completely necessary for life! Without blood circulation, death is certain. A bad cut can cause a person to bleed out and die, and yet most of us give little thought to our blood. Even in an artificial environment, blood has to be flowing in our body for survival.

Jesus Christ shed His blood for you and I on Calvary. His blood was sinless, spotless, precious blood! Because we have sinful blood in our veins, passed down from our father (Romans 5:12-14), we were guilty and condemned to die (John 3:18). We needed a Saviour! So Christ took upon Himself a body and willingly died on Calvary (Phil. 2:5-8), shedding His life giving blood. And today if you will ask Him to forgive you of your sin, and by faith trust Him as your Saviour, you can be cleansed by the blood of Christ and made whole.

Because Christ arose and lives forever more, you can have eternal life as well. Won't you believe today.
