Palm Sunday
One week before Christ would raise from the tomb victorious over death, hell, and the grave, He made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Awaiting Him there was the crowd that knew Him as the Messiah. They had known the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9 which said, " Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass."

They had long awaited the coming of their King, but unfortunately they misunderstood the timing of all that was prophesied. They expected and desired Christ to take the throne in Jerusalem at that time, but the cross had to come first. The prophecy was fulfilled in every detail, even down to the animal Jesus sat upon.

As they stood along the roadway anticipating the King's arrival, John records for us in Chapter 12, verses 12 and 13, that many had palm branches to lay on the ground as Jesus passed by. Matthew records for us in Chapter 21:8 that others lay their garments on the street. What a show of reverence and an acknowledgement of the King of Kings.

The gospels then record for us that they sang praises of Hosanna. It is also recorded for us that all of Jerusalem was moved at His coming and many asked
" Who is this?"

If today America and the people of this world would get a glimpse of His majesty and glory. If only we would live with the purpose of showing forth His coming. How many more people would believe?
How many more could be saved?

Would you purpose today to tell someone that He is coming again and ask them if they would receive Christ as their Saviour?
