Have you ever wondered how a person knows they are called to be a missionary? What is the defining moment that reveals to them their path will not follow the average career of most folks?

Well, I'll tell you what it is not. It is not looking forward to a goal of a great number of converts to report about, it is not seeing the conditions of peoples lives and doing something to bring about change, and it definitely is not defined by trying to do something to make yourself feel better about your life. Surrendering to go into missions does nothing to save you or keep you saved. " For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9.

So, if none of these ideas are true about the surrender to missions, what other reason would compel an individual, or family to go into missionary work? And now, missionaries are called and sent out at the command of Christ. What we need to understand is that missions is not going to a place or people group, it is following the command that has already been given us by Christ.

Missions is looking at Christ, not looking at the need of people! Hebrews 12:2 " Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;..."
