--Labor Day--

What is all this talk about work? Why does it matter where I work or what I do? Why do I have to work anyways; I know others that don't.

These questions, along with many others, are often spoken by society and reveal the true depth of our nations problems. The primary age group that voices these questions is the generation comprised of 40 years old and under. Take just a moment and let that sink in. Young, healthy, strong, and educated; yet the very basic attribute to sustaining our future alludes them.

This generation has grown up with such ease that there is almost no understanding of responsibility. Most of this generation knows very little of sacrifice, has very little knowledge of what war cost a country, and don't really understand what " going without" even means. We are quickly becoming an overpaid, overmedicated, lazy, and selfish nation. The future of our country is in the hands of our young families. This is the strength that we must cultivate. God's Word needs to be restored to it's proper place of respect. The truth of God's Word must be proclaimed, it's teachings must be obeyed, and the warnings must not be ignored.

" And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;" Colossians 3:23

" I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35

" The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour." Proverbs 21:25

" But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." I Timothy 5:8

God has much to say in His Word about the reward of working. Please take time this weekend and thank God for giving us the ability and desire to labor. Take a moment to " teach others also" of what this holiday represents.
