For the Grace of God

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee." Titus 2:11-15

In verse 15 of our text we find a very important command concerning our responsibility for the gift of grace that has been given us.

First, we find we are to tell everyone about what Christ has done for them and what He wants for their lives. Second, we must understand that when telling others there must be some exhortation along with correction. Next, we find that our authority to do this comes from God Himself. The Bible must be our constant guide for truth. And lastly, we are told to let no man take away our voice through fear or intimidation when it comes to speaking of our Saviour. In a day when everyone else is voicing their opinion in riot, Christians should be constantly proclaiming the marvelous grace of God.
