We often sing wongs that speak of Christ and talk about the victory we receive through His going to Calvary for us. The danger of familiarity is that it can breed contentment. The lyrics should be more than just words on a page, they hopefully tell the story of our personal salvation and relationship with Christ Jesus.

In Matthew 11:29, we read the words of Jesus when He says, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me: for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Let's take a few moments and give thought to the phrase "learn of me?" There are several things a person can do to lean more about an individual.

  • You can start by spending more time with them than maybe you have in the past.
  • You can listen to them when they speak about themselves and what they have gone through.
  • You can ask others who know them about their knowledge and experience with the person.
  • You can also read things they have written.

The issue of people today is not if they believe in God or know who Christ is intellectually; the real issue is, do they know Christ as their personal Saviour and know enough about Him to take on His character traits as an example to a lost and dying world?

Have you asked Christ into your heart to be your Saviour? If not, would you do so today? We would love to take the Bible and show you how. If you are saved, have you applied the things spoken of earlier to your life? Do you have an earnest desire to know "More About Jesus?"
