Jesus said "No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

We are living in a world with many distractions. The values of past generations seem to be non-existent. We often find ourselves being negligent of important things only to be loaded down with frivolous activities. As a result, we dream of things being different and wishing for more time.

Ecclesiastes 6:9 asys, "Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit."

The Bible declares that we would be better off by taking our present circumstances and trusting the Lord to make it better than to wish and worry about things at a distance. Solomon goes on to say that there are many things that increase vanity. Many of the things we wish for, dream after, and even give our lives to achieve, are as temporary as our own life.

We must be more diligent than ever to live with eternity in our hearts. Only the things done for Christ will last beyond this lifetime. Don't be distracted, don't be discouraged, ask the Lord to open your eyes to the blessings of now. With the Lord's help, we can make an eternal difference in this present world.
