The Bible tells that we are to examine ouselves in light of scripture in order to have our sin properly diagnosed (1 Cornithians 11:28). Upon the Holy Spirit revealing to us what the problem is, we then are to go back to the Bible for treatment. The Great Physician, Christ Jesus, then commands that we humble ourselves, repent and turn from our wickedness, and by fatih walk in newness of life. It seems recently, that there has been an increase in the teaching that a person can simply speak the name of Jesus, and they are somehow miraculously promised a home in heaven. In the coming days, when you hear the news of another attack on humanity and all that is decent and holy, remember it is only the strength of the Lord that will be able to overcome and enable us to stand. Each day that passes, we hear of more strife and conflict around the world. Even within our own country, we are reminded of the heartbreak that is caused by those who would choose to try and take our freedom from us. It has been said that freedom cannot be taken, it can only be given away.I
